Ever have a job around the house that is just too hard to begin? Seriously, first you have to find the hammer, and then the nails and then the pliers, etc, etc, etc. Ugh!! I am already done.
Well, this cleaning tip is all about how to begin before you begin. Yes, I am a woman and yes I have my own set of tools. But I do not have my own cupboard in the corner of the garage like Grandma Dot does.
She found a solid wood old kitchen cupboard. Hers came from a kitchen re-model. As you can see, she put it in the corner and then painted it and two hanging cupboards completely black. This gave her a large worktop area. Of course she added a light, there is never enough light for working on projects, and a handy paper towel dispenser. I know it is a girl thing to do, but girls like to have clean hands.
Speaking of being a girl, Dot just had to put a little sparkle on the hammers and some decent drawer pulls to jazz up the place.
She finds any acrylic container she can find at the thrift shops to store all the ‘stuff’ that you need to store. It’s so much easier to be able to see inside the container to remember just what was put there in the first place.
Now it’s easy to see that Dot puts the old adage to use: a place for everything and everything in its place.
Bring on the next project. Grandma Dot is ready.
