Oh myyy cookies! These are amazing. My Grandma makes these every Christmas and they are truly worthy. They taste like a homemade version of a Lofthouse cookie, only better! They are soft and cakey, with tangy frosting. I highly recommend adding colored sprinkles for the added crunch.
Soft Baked Sugar Cookies
1/2 lb Butter (Softened)
3 Large Eggs
1 1/2 cup Sugar
4 cups Flour
1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon Vanilla
1 cup Sour Milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Cream butter, eggs, sugar and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients together. Alternate adding milk and dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes.
Cookies should not brown or they will dry out. (A tiny bit on the bottom is okay though).
Yields 36 medium sized cookies
Frosting
4 tablespoons Butter (Softened)
2 cups Powdered Sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 tablespoons hot water
Mix butter, sugar and vanilla together. Add hot water one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
