Once upon a time, there was a little boy who was awfully scared.
His mama always tried to reassure him with words of encouragement, love.
She held him tightly.
She sang him lullabies.

She whispered sweet messages to him to make him feel safe.
But the little boy was often too scared to even leave his room.
One day the mama looked out from his bedroom window and shouted with glee.
“Look at the sparkling rock on the front lawn.”
“I bet you God left it there just for YOU.”
“It’s a very special rock.”
“I used to have one when I was a little girl.”
And the little boy let his mama help him get dressed and together they held hands and walked out from his room.

They opened the front door.
The little boy peered outside.
He saw the rock shining brightly in the sun.
It had his name on it.
“Look, Mama, God wrote my name.”
And they high-fived.
And they happy danced the day away.

And when they walked up the front stoop, the little boy stopped before going inside.
He asked his mama if she would bring him a blue crayon.
The little boy picked out the shiniest rock in their garden.
He wrote “GOD” on the rock and placed it right in the middle of the lawn.
“Mama, I am going to stay up and watch until God picks up my rock.”
The mama said he had to sleep, otherwise, God wouldn’t be able to come by.
The little boy couldn’t wait to go to sleep.
The next morning the rock was gone.
So was the little boy’s fear.
