I am often PINspired by Pinterest, but I never know whether the ideas are something an ‘average’ mom like me (and my 3 year old) can do in an afternoon. SO, I decided to try them out and let YOU know. Today’s Pinspiration – Homemade Finger Paint
I LOVE THIS!!
And highly recommend it!!
This is the picture that inspired me. Usually I link this picture to the website where it originated. However, this picture links to a Pin-spam. Strange.
Anyways, here it is…
3 Tablespoons Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup Corn Starch
2 Cups Water
Directions:
Mix them all in a small sauce pan. Heat until it thickens. Cool. Pour in containers. Add food coloring. Enjoy.
(We did)
So – How do I love thee? Let me count the ways:
1. Ease of finding Ingredients: 10 – had everything in my cupboard (except red food coloring – darn Red Velvet Cake.)
2. Ease of directions: 10 (or higher on the scale if I could)
3. Product: 10 – Just like the Crayola paint I have in my cupboard**
**There may be an exception to this. The over-the-counter paint is likely more washable. I always figure that stuff made with food coloring is NOT going to be something we do before heading to church. We suit up: Old clothes, bibs, newspaper, etc. That exception aside, this is one that everyone should try.
