It’s been a week-ish of self-quarantine in our country thanks to COVID-19, and toilet paper hoarding aside, this situation is starting to bring out the good in our community at large. From celebrities doing at-home online performances to ordinary citizens putting their Christmas lights back up in our neighborhoods, we are all finding ways to spread joy and cheer in this weird, weird season of isolation.
It’s amazing to see big corporations getting involved in spreading joy, too! Earlier this week, Disney put Frozen 2 on Disney+ a whole three months early, and yesterday, the Hallmark Channel put out an announcement that made many of us swoon.
That’s right, ladies, get out your CHRISTMAS JAMMIES because the Hallmark Channel is holding a Christmas movie marathon this weekend to make all our quarantine hopes and dreams come TRUE!
Who’s ready to spend the weekend watching her favorite childhood TV stars Candace Cameron Buré, Danica McKellar, and Lacey Chabert find true love at Christmastime?? THIS GIRL! And pretty much every female in my age demographic in America. HOLLA!
Even better? We don’t even have to wait for Friday night to start the weekend; Hallmark Channel is starting the Christmas-y romantic goodness at noon EST and continuing it through Sunday, March 22nd at 6:00 PM EST! Who wants to take bets on how many times DJ Tanner will find love during those 54 hours? Let’s all pledge to do a shot of egg nog every time someone kisses under the mistletoe, shall we? Gotta keep quarantine interactive!
In all seriousness, I absolutely love to see people coming together locally and big companies coming together nationally to get us all through this. With corporate giants offering everything from free internet to in-home entertainment and museums giving virtual tours and science lessons to our kids, you can see, in realtime, that we ARE coming together!

So let’s all buddy up with our girl gangs virtually this weekend and allow the Hallmark Channel to help us believe in joy, in miracles, in LOVE, and that this—this right here, right now—might just be the most wonderful time of the year. Let’s make it a time of togetherness with family we never knew we needed.
