The Sweetest Mother's Day Gift!

My favorite moms say, “Come on over,” no matter the piles of laundry stacked all over the dining room table.

Their cars are rarely clean, and the floors are littered with half-empty water bottles, Goldfish, baseball cleats, and random school papers.

They move heaven and earth just to have a 30-minute coffee date with you, without the kids.

They text you that they’re praying for you, and you know they mean it, whether the issue seems big or small.

They text you to check on your kids, to check on your back, to check on your hot water heater that’s giving you fits. They care about your everyday and want to be part of it.

They love your kids like their own and aren’t afraid to tell them to “act right” when they’re acting a fool.

They give you the benefit of the doubt.

They cry with you when life is too much, and then they send ridiculously funny memes to lighten the mood after.

They don’t judge when you have zero make-up on and an oversized t-shirt complete with coffee stains in the school drop-off line.

They love you for you.

They see you for you.

Whether you’re at your worst or your best, they cheer you on.

My favorite moms just get it, and I’m forever grateful we’ve got each other.

This week I’m celebrating my 35th birthday! In celebration of my 35 years, here are 35 things I’ve learned throughout the years I wanted to share with you! Live a healthy lifestyle. It is true that your metabolism slows down as you get older. (Mine pretty much has went on a permanent vacation since I turned 30!) A Mom Friend is a Special Kind of Friend

Two women walking with babies in strollers

We all know the importance of friendships. However, a mom friend is a different kind of friend. If you are ever so lucky to have a mom friend, it feels like this friendship starts when you need it the most. You get your baby ready for a playgroup, a music class, or the local park. You hesitantly sit beside another mom and start talking about how many teeth her baby has, where she got her outfit from and a super cool milestone her baby just hit. After a few more playgroups you exchange numbers. A mom friend is born.  You...

Choose Your Mom Friends Wisely

Group of mom friends

“Cheerio?” I offered, separating the zippered seal from a baggie and extending my arm to the circle of moms. We were gathered on blankets at the park where baby and toddler talk was in full swing. When will night wakings end? If my child isn’t walking, should I worry? Which car seat is best? The clear, plastic baggie dangled from my fingertips. Much like a policeman stopping traffic with his palm, one mom put up a hand to block my gesture. She wasn’t about to wave this snack through. “No, thank you.” “We don’t do Cheerios,” said another. Judgment thick...
