I have to admit, one of the things I am most excited about in our new house is that I now have a mantle to decorate! But it’s a process to get it just right!
Here’s where I started . . . I love all the color!
After bringing out all of my Christmas decorations and scattering them everywhere, I dismantled the mantle (ha!) and left what I knew I wanted to keep up there.
Then I simply set on the mantle everything I wanted to include.
Then I added a couple things and removed a couple things.
More adding and subtracting of things!
Then I started spacing things out and rearranging, playing with heights and placement.
Now the permanent placement of things begins.
But I wasn’t loving it so I switched it around!
And switched it around some more! At this point I’m starting to like it but it feels like there’s too much.
So I took a little away,
And took a little more away. I was really happy with this!
But that happiness only lasted a few days! I took a little more off the mantle. And did you notice I wrapped the boxes on the right under the vase with fun Christmas paper? Such a fun way to help create more height!
But it still wasn’t quite right, so I made another switch. And I love it! This is it!!
Oh so perfect! And the best part is these are all things I already had in my holiday stash!
I love sitting on my couch in front of the fire enjoying our first full-size Christmas tree and our super cute holiday mantle!
I hope I’ve inspired you to try a little something new when decorating your mantle.
Wishing you and your family a very happy holiday season!
Smiles!
