Take that, social distancing—the Boys are BACK!
Everyone’s favorite ’90s boy band (fight me) released a home-video rendition of their megahit “I Want It That Way” and IT IS EVERYTHING.
Why yes, I am yelling. And no, I’m not sorry.
Because I don’t know about you fine folks, but I’m a ’90s-kid-turned-mom-overseeing-quarantine-and-homeschool-while-trying-to-stay-sane, and a throwback to the simple life when bleach blondes and 5-part harmonies ruled the airwaves is exactly the 3-minute escape I needed.

The video, which was aired as part of Fox and iHeartRadio’s Living Room Concert for America this week, features AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, and Kevin Richardson in their respective homes performing the 1999 hit. The squares of video bounce back and forth like something straight off of TRL, and I am here for it.
Give the music video a watch here:
The video was just one of the celebrity features of the Sunday night hour-long program, which drew more than 8-million viewers in the United States. It featured performances from several other artists, including Alicia Keys, Dave Grohl, Billie Eilish, Sam Smith, Camilla Cabello, Shawn Mendes, H.E.R., Billie Joe Armstong Demi Lovato, Tim McGraw, and Mariah Carey. The artists—in quarantine like the rest of us, of course—used cell phones and whatever home equipment they had on hand to record their contributions. Between performances, viewers were encouraged to donate to Feeding America and First Responders Children’s Foundation during this trying time.
And call me nostalgic if you want, but I think our ’90s friends stole this show—and need to make it a weekly event until life gets back to normal.
